Shakira celebrates my birthday

I wasn't a big fan of shakira until Friday 23rd 2007

It was a part of my birthday present from hubby ..

A ticket to Shakira's first ever concert in the Middle East

We were supposed to leave the hotel at 6:30, as they open the gates to the Autodrom (where the concert was held) at 7:30, there was a big traffic due to the huge number of people attending the concert, we arrived at the gate around 7:30, but as we booked the tickets by email, they told us that we have to walk all around the Autodrom (a real long walk) to collect out tickets.

We went there collected the tickets. heading to our seats I realized that it's gonna be a long night, so I better buy some water, & there I saw a Costa corner, asking for water, they told us that we must buy some coupons for that, but looking around for where to get those damn coupons, there was a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally long lane waiting, so we decided to go straight ahead to our seatings. The concert was supposed to start at 9:00, but was delayed for 30 minuted.

It started at 10:00, with a man playing qanoun & shakira from behind the curtains singing

أعطني الناي وغني .. فالغنا سر الوجود

وأنين الناي يبقى .. بعد أن يفنى الوجود

Then with a mixtures of English/Spanish songs .. she made the audience go crazy singing, dancing & even jumping with her.

After an amazing 1 hour she said:"Thank you Dubai .. & Goodnight" .. & i was like "WHAT!!! NO WAY" she didn't even sang my song "Hips don't lie" .. so we waited & waited screaming for her to come back (one of the audience near us was screaming "Beyonce" hehehe) so after nearly 10 minutes she came back, wearing "badlat raqs" & dancing to "Anta Omry", it was amazing.

Finally .. my song was on .. & just like the video with all the dancers & the Cuban guy on stage .. It was a wonderful show.

The night was over, & we were supposed to walk a little bit to catch a cab, but infortunatelly cabs weren't allowed to go near the gates so we had to walk for nearly 2 hours (من التعب فصخت الجوتي وقمت أمشي حافية) in order to get one, & after many refused to take us. we finally got one.

It was a night that I will never forget .. يعني منو فيكم غنتله شاكيرا في عيد ميلاده؟؟

But you gotta work hard for my next birthday present, as i'm not gonna accept anything less than that .. Kapeesh?!!!?
